Steven Spielberg

So tell me. What do these things have in common?

If you said "Nothing. The first three are movies and the last is of some old guy." You are wrong. Terribly wrong.

The connection is actually with that "some old guy". That guy is the director of those three movies and many many more. His name? Steven Spielberg.

What's that? You say, "Oh! I've heard of him! I didn't know he did those movies." Well you are correct. Steven Spielberg is the Mr. Monopoly of the movie spectrum. Name a movie, and Steven Spielberg was some how associated in the movie.

That's right, Steven Spielberg has met the who's who of Hollywood and DC. This man, who's 65, is unstoppable. He's the co-founder of DreamWorks and several other corporations. Being the 245th richest man in the world, and having all of those riches self made is a big thing. It leaves a lot of money for his wife (Jessica Capshaw) and his 7 kids (Jessica, Max, Theo, Sasha, Sawyer, Mikaela, and Destry).

This man, even after filming so many movies, finds time to have hobbies. Not only does he find it his passion to buy props to some of his childhood movies and from movies he's directed, he also see's movies on the weekends. He is an avid film buff, and when he's not behind the camera he's watching other people's movies. He sees almost every major summer blockbuster in theaters if he's not working on films and enjoys all of them by applauding on the acting skill, direction, scene selection, writing, etc.

Ever since Spielberg has played Pong while filming Jaws in 1974, he has been a gamer. He owns a Wii, a Play Station 3, a PSP, and an Xbox 360. His favorite games are Medal of Honor, and all of the Call of Duty games. Just think, you could have been playing with Steven Spielberg during any of your matches!

His inspiration from gaming gave him the inspiration to direct The Adventures of Tintin in a different way. Creating a 3D world for the animation to exist, they gave Spielberg a giant game controller to control the camera movement in this world for filming.

So where do I end up in all of this? Well I love all of Steven Spielberg's work. His movies are instant hits in my opinion because they are very well crafted and he knows what to agree too and what to give to other directors. (That's why you don't see him directing any of the Twilight movies.) He is my inspiration not only for his work, but also outside of work he is still the down to earth man that you would enjoy talking too. From the interviews I've seen, you would have never known that he was this billion dollar director.

If only I could meet him.
